Creative Problem Solving

Problems, challenges, obstacles – different words for similar situations that require solutions to resolve or overcome them. Problems are encountered in both our personal and professional lives but how can we educate ourselves and our coworkers about how to define, assess, and brainstorm for effective solutions? This course will take the learner on a journey of defining problems, understanding different methods for collaborating and brainstorming, and implementing the best solutions.

At the conclusion of this course, the learner will be able to:

  1. Define problem solving
  2. Differentiate between different types of problems
  3. Apply ten different problem solving techniques for any problem situation
  4. Implement two effective planning implementation techniques
  5. Apply a seven-step problem solving model within any problem situation
  6. Understand why problem solving can sometimes fail within organizations
  7. Determine what problem solving techniques can be best applied within your work and non-work environments
