What are the initial requirements for an Electrical Contractor?
The State of Wyoming requires that all electrical contractors hold a current company license which is to be renewed every year. Please visit the State’s License and Exams Applications page for information on your specific license.
Journeyman and Masters that hold a license in another State may be able to reciprocate their license into the State of Wyoming.
The State of Wyoming is Reciprocal with the Journeyman Electrician License in the following States: Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Maine, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah
The State of Wyoming is Reciprocal with Master Electrician Licenses in the following States: Idaho, South Dakota, Utah
What are the continuing education requirements for an Electrical Contractor?
In order to renew your Journeyman or Master Electrician License, you will need to provide proof of the attendance of not less than sixteen (16) hours of training in the National Electrical Code or in advances in the electrical industry meeting the criteria established by the board on or before the date that his/her license expires. At least eight (8) of the required sixteen (16) hours of training shall specifically cover the National Electrical Code. The State of Wyoming has adopted the current National Electrical Code.
