What are the initial requirements for a licensed Alarm Installer?

Every alarm technician and/or temporary alarm technician working
within Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky must register with the
Louisville Metro Police Department – False Alarm Reduction Unit.
The annual registration fee is $25. License fees are valid for a period
of one (1) year from date of issuance for alarm technicians. A six month
license is issued to temporary alarm technicians.

Alarm technicians must be at least 18 years of age. They must provide
proof of Level 1 training certification and maintain continuing
education requirements.

A Background Check Form shall be completed and returned with the
Alarm Technician Application Form.

What are the continuing education requirements for the Electrical Industry?

Under KRS 227A. 100 (7) requires six (6) hours continuing education with only two (2) hours safety. The Journeyman and Master license holders are required to complete code related continuing education and the Contractor’s license holders are required to complete business and employment law continuing education.
