What are the initial requirements for an Electrical Contractor?
An applicant must submit an application to the Georgia Division of Electrical Contractors:
– Completed and Notarized Application
– Obtain a score of Seventy (70) on the appropriate examination
– Show proof of age, 21 years or older
– Show proof of a minimum of four years experience in the electrical field
– At least one reference from a licensed electrical contractor, who shall include his/her registration number
What are the continuing education requirements for Electrical Contractors?
The Division of Electrical Contractors shall be authorized to require persons seeking renewal of Electrical Contractor Class I and Class II licenses to complete board approved continuing education of not more than four hours annually.
What are the educational requirements for Fire Protection System Installers?
The Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner licenses all companies and individuals who design, install, test, inspect, and maintain fire protection systems (fire alarm, sprinkler, suppression, etc.) and fire extinguishers in the State of Georgia. Each license mandates its own NICET requirements and annual registration with the Georgia Secretary of State and Corporations Division.
