Interchangeable Core

This three hour course Interchangeable Core was created to encourage locksmiths to step out of their comfort zone and to pursue new opportunities presented by Best/Falcon style (A-2 systems) Interchangeable core service and repair. In this three hour course we plan to accomplish this by defining what Interchangeable Core Service and Repair is, how it works, why it is a practical and secure key control system for large and small businesses alike and illustrates how locksmiths can easily master the intricacies of all aspects of Small Format (A-2) Interchangeable Core Service and Repair. Students of this class will come away with a solid working knowledge of terms and procedures involved in properly organizing, implement-ting and producing Interchangeable Core systems. The course stresses and illustrates proper terminology, key cutting and cylinder pinning; as well as master keying and covers tools of the trade and emphasizes the “Dos and Don’ts” appropriate for this area of key control security.
